3 December 2013Dinner at the St. Moritz Restaurant

Our last meeting for 2013 at the St Mortiz was a sold out, oversubscribed event. We have been going from strength to strength this year. Ursule Thurnherr greated the many guests and had the pleasure to welcome Mrs Margrit Ledermann-Prestofelippo, the Swiss general consul. On this particular evening and as a special Christmas extra, we had an Afternoon Tea for two at the Promenade in the Dorchester Hotel to be won.

A quiz did lighten up the evening, encouraging members and guests to put their heads together on the tables and exchanging general knowledge, as Goggle should NOT be consulted for once.

Here a sample of two questions:
Which part of the UK is also known as Little Switzerland?
What is Maundy money and when and by whom is it given?
At last but not least a Cockney rhyme:
Mince pies

The worthy winner was Sue Howe, who was delighted receiving such a wonderful gift from the City Swiss Club.

It was a cheerful evening and a great success.
